Meet Ms Kratz

Hello!

I am excited and glad to spend the year learning about and with you! Before we get started, let me tell you a little bit about me.

Perry Hall High has been part of my life for 13 years. I attended high school at the Hall, student taught her with my senior English teacher, and have been teaching in room 115 for the past seven years. I guess you could say I am a gator for life. :) After high school I attended Towson University for my undergraduate work. Starting out as a Biology Pre-Med major and making a gradual shift to English major made for a lengthy stay on the Towson campus. After college, I have taken courses from Towson, Goucher, and MSDE, and last year I earned my certificate in Instructional Technology from Johns Hopkins University. I haven't decided what my next educational adventure will be, but I am certainly not finished taking courses and learning new things.

Personally, I am a mother to a lovely and tenacious 10 year old girl named Caitlin and about to be a stepmother to a rambunctious and spirited 4 year old boy named Brandon. My wedding to Mike, my fiancé a man who is the epitome of contradiction will be on July 11, 2012 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. So, this is my last year to be Ms. Kratz. I love to read and garden; puzzles are my favorite pastimes to relax. I enjoy trying new things especially in technology.

The future of education and the society you will be functioning within is changing so rapidly that you will need to be adept in problem solving and situational prowess to succeed. I love incorporating technology and trying new books, new web tools, and new project ideas - sometimes the result is fantastic; sometimes there is much frustration. I am learning with you and I am here to help you. Please don't ever hesitate to ask, question, or comment on any aspect of the class.

I am so excited for a successful year.
